Unity recordings , about us

Our Aims

Unity Recordings was set up in 2008 with the goal of promoting and producing quality music in China, thus providing a platform for Chinese producers of non-mainstream music. Unity Recording’s present releases are within the Hip Hop genre. The long term plan is to encompass a range of styles from rock to jazz to hip hop that are either representative of or relevant to modern China. The hope is through this to make some contribution towards lessening China’s relative musical isolation, increasing understanding and establishing connections between East and West.

DJ DSK

Set up Unity recordings primarily to release the BOTY CD and Metric Breaks Chinese battle record. The philsophy of the record label is the same as the actual B.O.T.Y. competition in that it aims to promote a positive hiphop environment for people to express themselves and their skills.

DJ DSK was introduced to hip-hop in the early eighties and immediately began dabbling in b-boying, graffiti and djing but soon thereafter focused on the musical aspect, turned to the tables, and set to work perfecting his scratch and battle style techniques. Recently he can found djing at events like B.O.T.Y. the UK Bboy Champs and others around Asia. DJ DSK
