Unity recordings , about us |
Why did we make a Chinese scratch record? After touring extensively through China DSK noticed that scratching and mixing Chinese words and sounds in his set would provoke a better crowd response. He then decided to set to work on a scratch record to help Chinese DJs provide a more interesting show. Also the aim is to give battling DJs in competitions like DMC a record with Chinese disses and scratches. DJ DSKDSK set up Unity recordings primarily to release the BOTY CD and Metric Breaks Chinese battle record. The philosophy of the record label is the same as the actual B.O.T.Y. competition in that it aims to promote a positive Hip Hop environment for people to express themselves and their skills. DJ DSK was introduced to Hip-Hop in the early eighties and immediately began dabbling in B-boying, Graffiti and DJing but soon thereafter focused on the musical aspect, turned to the tables, and set to work perfecting his scratch and battle style techniques. Recently he can found DJing at events like B.O.T.Y. the UK B-boy Champs and others around Asia.
