Biography

Jekai Soulspeak (jekai luen liang) has banging beats with his hands since he was a little snot-nosed kid.  In fact his momma used to tell him at the dinner table to stop using chopsticks as drumsticks. Since then, he has studied classical guitar with the L.A. Guitar Quartet, DJ’d in various L.A. Hip-Hop crews, played in various Funk and Jazz groups, and performed with various artists including Lyrics Born, KRS One, Living Legends, etc. He is part of Los Angeles Hip-Hop group - The Oddibles, and Qingdao crew- Ding Zhen Ban (thimble clan).   Since moving to Beijing in 2010, he has shown his talent as both a DJ and producer on the national Hip-Hop scene.  He met up with UK drummer Slazenger for a single cooperation based around combining live drumming with live beat making and the two discovered the potential that they had unleashed.   Creating a live show centered on live looping using acoustic and electronic instruments, and forging a style which is wholly their own this duo will be one to watch in coming months.
