Biography

DJ Devious(Dane Urry) grew up in Northern California in a musical family, and from an early age became proficient in piano/keyboards and drums/percussion. During the late 1990’s he became increasingly interested in the musical genres of jazz, funk, and soul, which eventually led him to hip hop music. After playing and singing in several bands in the US he started to produce his own music and become adept in various recording technologies. Long being a collector of vinyl it was a natural progression to enter into the DJ world. Starting in various clubs and parties in the USA he began to gain experience and become familiar with a wide variety of musical styles.

Danye moved to Beijing China in 2004 where he continued to form bands and DJ. Recently he has been located in Shanghai China, collaborating with other MC’s, DJ’s, and musicians to produce new hip hop and funk/soul music and help develop the music scene in China. He currently DJ’s and also performs with the band Pharaoh. Currently he is producing music with both Chinese and foreign musicians and will release an album in 2009 under a different band organization to be announced shortly.
